What is the Telehealth-Only Evening Treatment Program?
The Psychiatric Evening Treatment Program offers the same depth of structured, evidence-based mental health care as our Day Treatment Program — reimagined for evenings. Designed for adults who are managing work, caregiving, school, or other daytime responsibilities, this program provides intensive therapeutic support without requiring you to put your life on hold.
Our evening program bridges the gap between weekly outpatient therapy and full-day treatment, giving you access to consistent, high-quality mental health care during hours that actually fit your schedule.
Why Choose the Evening Treatment Program?
For many people, the biggest barrier to getting the help they need isn’t willingness — it’s timing. Our Evening Treatment Program removes that barrier by offering:
Flexible Hours That Fit Real Life
Our telehealth-only evening program allows for high-intensity, evidence-based treatment (CBT/DBT) from a private location, eliminating commute times and North Shore traffic to better balance clinical recovery with professional and family responsibilities.
Intensive Support Without Intensive Disruption
A Peer Community That Gets It
Connect with others who are also balancing recovery with real-world responsibilities — building mutual understanding and support.
Accelerated Progress
Fact: According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), individuals enrolled in structured intensive outpatient programs report significant improvements in symptom management and daily functioning — often within the first eight weeks of treatment.
What to Expect in Our Evening Treatment Program
At Balance Mental Health Group, every aspect of our Evening Treatment Program is designed to deliver meaningful, measurable progress — even within a condensed, after-hours schedule.
Program Schedule
Our evening sessions run Monday through Friday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, offering a focused blend of group therapy, skills training, and psychoeducation.
Daily Schedule Example
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Group Therapy (CBT for Anxiety, Depression, and Emotional Regulation)
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Skill Building (Mindfulness Practices, DBT Skills, and Self-Care Planning)
Individual therapy sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis in coordination with your treatment team.
Core Elements of the Program
Group Therapy Sessions
- Build connection and reduce isolation through shared peer experiences.
- Explore topics including managing anxiety in high-pressure environments, emotional regulation, setting boundaries, and coping with life transitions.
Individual Therapy
- Weekly one-on-one sessions with a licensed therapist to address personal goals, process challenges, and track your progress.
Psychoeducation Workshops
- Learn the science behind mental health with practical topics like sleep hygiene, the impact of stress on the body, managing triggers at work, and building sustainable routines.
Mind-Body Integration
- Guided mindfulness and relaxation practices to help you decompress, regulate your nervous system, and build lasting emotional balance.
Medication Management (as needed)
- Coordination with our psychiatric nurse practitioners to evaluate and manage medications as part of your overall treatment plan.
Who Can Benefit from the Evening Program?
Our Evening Treatment Program is designed for individuals experiencing:
- Depression, anxiety, or mood instability that is affecting work, relationships, or daily function.
- Burnout, chronic stress, or difficulty recovering from a recent mental health crisis.
- A need for more support than weekly therapy provides — but an inability to attend a daytime program.
- Transition out of inpatient or residential care, with a need for continued structured support.
- Trauma symptoms, grief, or emotional dysregulation that disrupts daily life.
Insight: The Evening Program is especially well-suited for working adults, college students, caregivers, and parents who are ready to prioritize their mental health without having to sacrifice the responsibilities that matter most to them.
The Science Behind Our Evening Treatment Program
Evidence-Based Therapies Used in Our Program
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Identifies and reshapes unhelpful thought patterns that drive anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity.
- One of the most extensively researched and effective therapies for a wide range of mental health conditions.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Builds practical skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Helps clients develop psychological flexibility — accepting difficult emotions while committing to values-driven action.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
- Uses meditation and body awareness techniques to reduce the physical and emotional toll of chronic stress.
Why Intensive Therapy Works:
- Regular, structured sessions create the therapeutic momentum that once-a-week appointments simply can’t sustain.
- Skills practiced in group and individual sessions can be applied to real-life situations immediately — often that same evening.
Fact: Research published in the Journal of Psychiatric Services shows that individuals in intensive structured treatment programs experience a 50% reduction in hospitalization rates compared to those receiving standard outpatient care alone.
A Pathway to Recovery That Fits Your Life
The Evening Treatment Program is built around one core principle: your mental health care should work for your life, not against it.
